General Information

  • Romero House provides special meals and celebrations for most occasions throughout the year including, New Year's, Valentine's day, St. Patrick's day, Easter, Canada day, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and Christmas. For Christmas Romero House removes all used items from our clothing room and replaces them with new articles that are collected throughout the year. Our families then have the opportunity to shop for their children. Packages are made up for all single men and women as well. Romero House holds a Christmas party the Sunday before Christmas where Santa Claus is present for the children and a Christmas dinner is served. Last year (1999) over 400 meals were served on this day. On Christmas day, a special Christmas meal is prepared again for anyone in the community who is in need or seeking the company of others.

  • Romero House accommodates the parole board, halfway houses and the courts for sentences requiring community service

  • Romero House provides schools supplies to any child or adult in need.
  • Romero House assists group homes for adults with developmental disabilities in vocational training and on the job experience.
  • Romero House assists the confirmation classes, Sunday school programs and social justice action groups, education programs dealing with the social implications of less fortunate members of our society and its impact on our quality of life in Saint John.
  • From it's beginning in 1982 to 1999 Romero House has served in excess of 1,036,748 meals.

Support for Romero House can be in many forms. If you live locally, you can offer support in the form of volunteering your time at Romero House.
